Mary Roos: »Aufrecht geh´n. Mein liederliches Leben«

Mary Roos was born in Bingen am Rhein in 1949. She made her first appearances in her parents’ hotel, where she was «discovered«, recording her first single at the age of nine in 1958. Countless record releases and various film parts followed. She had her first big hit in 1970 with »Arizona Man«. Roos became a star, was given her own show on German TV, and launched a career in France at the same time. In 1972 she competed in the Eurovision Song Contest and came third with the song »Nur die Liebe lässt uns leben«, after which she played the sold-out Paris Olympia for three weeks. In the years that followed, Mary Roos sang chansons and quality hits, and remains one of Germany’s best-known female interpreters to this day. But there were dark sides to her life as well as glamour. She tells her story in her autobiography »Aufrecht geh´n.
