Martha Argerich Festival
Seit über 70 Jahren treten die beiden miteinander auf, es verbindet sie eine genialische Kinder- und Lebensfreundschaft: die beiden Weltstars Martha Argerich und Daniel Barenboim. Die beiden Lebenslinien kreuzten sich in Buenos Aires. Schon als Kinder spielten sie dort zusammen, am Flügel und darunter. Bis heute geben sie umjubelte gemeinsame Konzerte. Und wenn die beiden gemeinsam die Bühne betreten, wird klar worum es in der Musik geht: um Austausch, Gespräch, Begegnung und wortloses Verständnis.
Barenboim wuchs in Israel auf und studierte unter anderem bei Nadia Boulanger in Paris. Zunächst feierte er Erfolge als Pianist und Kammermusiker, seit den 1970er Jahren auch als Dirigent. Er gastierte weltweit und leitete Orchester in Paris und Chicago. Von 1992 bis 2023 war er Generalmusikdirektor der Berliner Staatsoper. Argerich wurde in Buenos Aires geboren, erhielt ihre ersten Klavierstunden im Alter von fünf bei Vinvenzo Scaramuzza. Es zog sie nach Europa, sie studierte in London, Wien und der Schweiz. Sie gewann Klavierwettbewerbe in Bolzano und Warschau, sowie 1965 den Internationalen Chopin Wettbewerb in Warschau. Seitdem zählt sie zu den bekanntesten Pianistinnen der Welt.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
