Als Christina Pluhar und L’Arpeggiata 2009 ihr Monteverdi-Projekt »Teatro d’Amore« vorstellten, kam die Musikwelt aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus. Diese Aufführungen waren ohne Frage historisch beeinflusst und klangen doch überhaupt nicht akademisch, viel eher wie improvisiert, mit Lust am Spiel und musikantischem Witz. Vor allem die Basslinien, die Christina Pluhar durch ihr Spiel besonders hervorhob, sorgten für einen so swingenden Charakter, als ob Monteverdi einst den Jazz begründet habe. Schon damals gehörte auch die katalanische Sopranistin Nuria Rial zum Ensemble und verblüffte mit ihrer engelhaften Stimme und einem betörenden Timbre, das selbst strenge Kritiker schwärmen ließ. Zum Auftakt der Saison widmet sich Christina Pluhar nun dem venezianischen Komponisten Francesco Cavalli, der das Erbe seines Lehrers Monteverdi erwarb und entfaltete und bald stilprägend für die barocke Opernkunst wurde. »L’Amore innamorato«, »Der verliebte Amor«, heißt ihr neues Programm, das Arien, Lamenti und Instrumentalstücke aus sieben verschiedenen Cavalli-Opern kombiniert und mit »La Calisto« das Schicksal einer betrogenen Nymphe in den Mittelpunkt rückt. Cavallis untrügliches Gespür für den dramatischen Effekt, aber auch für die absurde Groteske kommt hier bestens zur Geltung.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
