Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum 40. Geburtstag! Auch in ihrer Jubiläumssaison macht die 1974 gegründete Junge Deutsche Philharmonie wieder Station bei den Elbphilharmonie Konzerten. Ursprünglich ins Leben gerufen von Musikern, die dem Bundesjugendorchester entwachsen waren, hat sie sich längst als fest Größe in Europa und im Hamburger Musikjahr etabliert. Orchester wie die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen und das Ensemble Resonanz sind aus ihren Reihen hervorgegangen. Nach dem umjubelten Gastspiel mit Jonathan Nott in der vergangenen Spielzeit tritt die Junge Deutsche Philharmonie nun mit Stefan Asbury an, einem erklärten Spezialisten für die Musik der Moderne. Entsprechend stehen zwei große Werke des 20. Jahrhunderts auf dem Programm: Franz Schrekers klangvolles »Vorspiel zu einem Drama« aus der Anfangszeit des 1. Weltkriegs sowie die Vierte Symphonie von Dmitri Schostakowitsch, von der sich der Komponist 1936 vergeblich seine kulturpolitische Rehabilitierung erhoffte. Zudem ist der der zweifache Echo Klassik-Preisträger Renaud Capuçon als Solist in Robert Schumanns nur selten aufgeführtem Violinkonzert zu hören.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
