Master of the Absurd

With excerpts from his autobiographical cycle of novels »Alle Toten fliegen hoch«, Joachim Meyerhoff was the very first writer to appear in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall in 2017. Three years later, he returns with the fifth volume, entitled »Hamster im hinteren Stromgebiet«. In this book, the 50-year-old is admitted to hospital as an intensive care patient, and suddenly finds himself hooked up to all kinds of machines in an ICU bed on the outskirts of Vienna. But as existence-threatening as the situation may be, the first absurd events and encounters are just round the corner…
