Description

Jan Lisiecki was awarded the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival’s Leonard Berstein Award in August 2013. Every year since then he has been invited back to the festival. Only one other pianist has been given this same honour: Grigory Sokolov. With this fact alone one may already gauge the greatness of this still very young Canadian of Polish origin. At 21 years of age, he has a musical and human maturity, wisdom and a depth of thought that make him immune to sensationalism and false pathos.
