An Advent-Christmas journey through Europe

Together with harpist Isabel Moreton, panpipe virtuoso Hannah Schlubeck will be performing at the Laeizhalle Recital Hall. The concert takes the audience on a journey into an Advent-Christmas world of sound. Well-known and unknown melodies from England, Ireland and France as well as traditional Advent and Christmas music from Germany will be played. The sound combination of the panpipes and concert harp promises a contemplative atmosphere for the upcoming Christmas festivities and offers listeners a break from the stress of everyday life. The programme showcases the variable sound of the panpipes, ranging from virtuosity to melancholy, and the filigree transparency of the harp.

The Schlubeck-Moreton duo have been playing together for almost 20 years and have performed together in over 300 concerts internationally. Hannah Schlubeck, who lives in Berlin, is regarded as one of the world’s leading panpipe players and was the first musician to graduate from a German music academy with a major in panpipes. Isabel Moreton also performs internationally and teaches harp at the Hamburg University of Music and Dance and the Hanover Music School.
