»Evergreens in Swing«
Am Samstag den 06. Februar um 20 Uhr in der Laeiszhalle in Hamburg heißt es »Evergreens in Swing«. Der Bandleader des Glenn Miller Orchestra für Europa, Wil Salden, ist stolz auf seine Musiker, wie es einst Glenn Miller »der König des Swing« gewesen war, wenn sie in der großen traditionellen Big Band Besetzung den absolut authentischen Swing Sound treffen. Der Bandleader beschenkt sich selbst zum 60. Geburtstag im nächsten Jahr, mit der CD »Evergreens in Swing«, die auch Teil des neuen Programms ist. Unvergessliche Melodien der Big Band Ära der 40er Jahre sowie Filmmelodien bilden den Schwerpunkt. Sein eingespieltes Musiker-Team, das das äußerste an Klangwürze herausholt, setzt dies bei den Konzerten meisterlich um. So ist das neue Konzertprogramm »Evergreens in Swing«, mit fetzig und Rhythmus betonten Stücken zum Mitswingen und Melodien die in romantische Liebesgefilde entführen, eine Hommage an alle Big Bandleader und Sängerinnen und Sänger der 40er Jahre. Wil Salden hat aus all den Titeln der neuen CD und den Klassikern von Glenn Miller ein zweistündiges kurzweiliges Programm zusammengestellt. Die Devise von Wil Salden und dem Glenn Miller Orchestra für Europa ist »Swing Is Our Kind Of Music.....«. Evergreens wie In The Mood, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, A String Of Pearls, Chattanogaa Choo Choo oder As Time Goes By, Diamonds Are The Girls Best Friend oder Smile verzaubern jeden.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

Please note: There are several construction sites in the immediate vicinity of the Laeiszhalle which may make it difficult to get to the concert. Please therefore plan enough time for your journey to the concert.
The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
