Description

Two talents perform three debut sonatas: pianist Sabine Weyer and cellist Dimitri Maslennikov dedicate themselves to the music of Johannes Brahms and his contemporaries. Starting with Brahms’ first cello sonata, they shed an insightful and exciting light on the repertoire surrounding the adopted Viennese through the respective first cello sonatas of Robert Fuchs and Heinrich von Herzogenberg.

Sabine Weyer, a native of Luxembourg, has been praised as »one of the most important young pianists of our time.« She demonstrates a strong musical personality, characterized by immense sensitivity and a deep curiosity for lesser-known gems of the repertoire. Dimitri Maslennikov won the International Soloist Competition in Moscow and the Czech International Competition in Prague at a young age. He has been a prizewinner at both the Tchaikovsky and Rostropovich Competitions. He has performed with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others. In Germany, he has appeared at the Schleswig-Holstein and Rheingau Music Festivals.
