Beethovens Symphonien sind die populärsten Dauerbrenner des Konzertlebens: Sie sind gut abgehangen und historisch unverwüstlich, Liebkind der Interpreten und Zuhörer, gehen (großteils) leicht ins Ohr und verleihen jedem Programm die Aura klassischer Erhabenheit. Und sie liegen – seit Erfindung des Phonographen vor über 100 Jahren – in gefühlten 234 Gesamteinspielungen vor. Wenn also heute, in Krisenzeiten der Tonträgerbranche, jemand zur Gesamteinspielung dieser neun Werke eingeladen wird, müssen seine Interpretationen schon ganz außergewöhnliche Qualitäten aufweisen. Der grandiosen Deutschen Kammerphilharmonie Bremen und ihrem Chefdirigenten Paavo Järvi ist dieses Kunststück gelungen: »Es gibt momentan keine andere Gesamtaufnahme, die genau auf neue Hörgewohnheiten zugeschnitten ist. Rhythmisch durchpulst, spannkräftig, reich an Kontrasten«, lobte das Branchenmagazin Audio, und die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung jubelte: »Eine famos gelungene Gesamtaufnahme. Denn Järvi und der Bremer Kammerphilharmonie gelingt die Vermittlung von sinnlich ungeheuer starken Erlebnissen mit strukturellen Einsichten. Im Ganzen lässt sich über diese neue Gesamteinspielung der Beethovensymphonien nur sagen: Die Freude höret nimmer auf.« Die Freude beginnt jetzt in der Laeiszhalle.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
