An evening with Brahms and Schumann

This concert given by the C.P.E. Bach Choir focuses chiefly on the small musical forms of Hamburg’s great son and honorary citizen Johannes Brahms. Interspersed with these pieces are the piano variations on a theme by his friend Robert Schumann, which Brahms composed at a young age, and piano pieces from his late op. 118 cycle, marked by its stylistic variety. An interesting and romantic evening celebrating the diversity of this great composer’s work.

Please note: This event replaces the cancelled concert from 6 May 2020.
