»Die Berliner« – sind längst nicht mehr bloß Orchester, sondern Mythos. Doch so beeindruckend die nachklingende Vergangenheit ist, die klangvolle Gegenwart des Orchesters ist es erst recht: Wer das Orchester live erlebt, merkt sofort, dass hier keine Routine herrscht; spürt, wie intensiv die Musiker miteinander kommunizieren. Allzu selten konnte man sich hiervon in Hamburg überzeugen. Doch bei den Elbphilharmonie Konzerten ist der hauptstädtische Spitzenklangkörper nun bereits zum zweiten Mal zu erleben. Auf der Kapitänsbrücke steht natürlich Chefdirigent Sir Simon Rattle, der in der ersten Konzerthälfte mit Brahms dritter Symphonie zunächst in heimischen Häfen an Land geht. Weniger festen Boden unter den Füßen als vielmehr den Reiz des Unerhörten verheißt dagegen das neue Werk von Georg Friedrich Haas, ein Auftragswerk des Orchesters und der New Yorker Carnegie Hall. Als ausgewiesener Connaisseur französischer Musik wird Rattle seine starke Besatzung in der zweiten Konzerthälfte auch durch die Stürme und Untiefen von Debussys »La Mer« manövrieren.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
