Description

The Tunisian musician Anouar Brahem is one of the great virtuosi on the short-necked Arab lute known as the oud. On a total of twelve albums released to date, he places what used to be an accompanying instrument at the centre of an Oriental jazz that takes its inspiration from many sources. In his Elbphilharmonie concert, Brahem has eminent jazzmen at his side, namely the pianist Django Bates, Dave Holland on double bass and Jack DeJohnette on percussion.
