Sein Werkverzeichnis ist opulent, und doch wird Josef Suks Musik noch viel zu selten gespielt. Wer erst einmal in die aparte musikalische Sprache des Tschechen eingetaucht ist, kann unendlich viel Neues entdecken. Suks dreisätziges Klaviertrio op. 2 beispielsweise, das Andrej Bielow, Adrian Brendel und Kit Armstrong in Hamburg vorstellen, sprüht nur so vor melodischem Einfallsreichtum und gesteht dem Klavier neben den selbständig behandelten Streichern viel Dominanz zu. Der amerikanische Pianist Kit Armstrong tritt schon seit Jahren mit dem Geiger Andrej Bielow, dem Primarius vom Szymanowski Quartett, und dem Cellisten Adrian Brendel, dem Sohn seines Mentors Alfred Brendel, auf. In dem kurz vor seinem Tod entstandenen Klaviertrio D-Dur Hob. XV/24 ist Joseph Haydns Hang zu überraschenden Brüchen vergleichbar ausgereift wie in seinen späten Streichquartetten. Robert Schumanns Klaviertrio Nr. 2 F-Dur op. 80, von dem Clara Schumann sagte, es erwärme sie in tiefster Seele, und Maurice Ravels Klaviertrio a-Moll als Beitrag aus dem 20. Jahrhundert runden den Abend ab.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
