Twentieth Century Masterpieces

Some works stand out in music history like the large black monolith appearing before the apes in Stanley Kubrick’s »2001 – A Space Odyssey«. They impress not only through their sheer expansiveness and astounding uniqueness, but also upon first hearing, they produce a virtual quantum leap in aesthetics. Due to resource constraints, they are seldom performed – which makes it even more wonderful that these masterpieces can be experienced at the Elbphilharmonie.
