Superhuman technique and extravagant performances

Ms Wang delivered a brilliant and unforgettable performance in the Laeiszhalle with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and Lionel Bringuier in March 2015. Yuja Wang, an extraordinary pianist, now returns to Hamburg with a solo programme including pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arnold Schönberg and Frédéric Chopin.

Described by the New York Times as an artist with a »superhuman technique«, the charismatic 28-year-old repeatedly surprises her audience with her extravagant stage presence. The Chinese-born pianist studied at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. In addition to numerous awards, including the Gilmore Young Artist Award, the Gramophone’s Young Artist of the Year and the ECHO Klassik, she is also an exclusive recording artist at Deutsche Grammophon.
