Reviewers have praised the South Korean pianist William Youn as a »true poet« with »a brilliant touch«. Youn, best known for his performances of Mozart works, embarked on his studies in the USA before switching to the Musikhochschule Hannover, where he was a pupil of the legendary teacher Karl-Heinz Kämmerling; he perfected his technique under great names like Andreas Staier and Menahem Pressler. In this recital he can be heard at the Elbphilharmonie for the first time with Romantic and contemporary works.
