Between heaven and hell
On the slopes of the 8,125-metre-high Nanga Parbat, the world’s ninth-highest mountain, success and tragedy lie side by side. And Reinhold Messner embodies both like no other. Accompanied by never-before-seen films and images, Messner traces a narrative arc from Albert Mummery, Willo Welzenbach, Hermann Buhl and Steve House, who wrote history on Nanga Parbat, to his own fateful expedition in which his brother Günther lost his life, but also to his greatest success.
