And one more dicsipline needs to be added without fail: Thompson is also a legendary singer. He drew international attention at the end of the sixties with the cult band Fairport Convention, then went on to launch a solo career; to this day, he has published countless songs that have had lasting popularity. And even at the age of 70, Thompson is still a phenomenon on stage, as he shows at his solo gig in the Elbphilharmonie.
