Tango Nuevo from Buenos Aires

Thirty-four thrusts of the knife is the English translation of the name of the Argentine ensemble 34 Puñaladas, which makes its German debut with this concert. The five musicians are among the most prominent representatives of the youngest tango generation. They celebrate the Tango Nuevo, combining traditional elements – such as a formation featuring four guitars and a singer – with very modern styles of performing the tango. The group has already been nominated several times for the Nobel Prize of the genre, the prestigious Premio Carlos Gardel.
