Rapper with a PhD
Rapper, producer and Professor of Music at the prestigious Brown University in the USA: Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo, better known as Sammus, is one of the leading contemporary representatives of Afrofuturism. Born and raised in the state of New York, she studied and earned her PhD at Cornell University, another »Ivy League« institution. She has released several albums and singles, and collaborated with numerous artists from the fields of music, film, podcasts and computer games. Her concerts far transcend the hip-hop scene, and also include cosplay elements. She is also a sought-after speaker who has the gift of »getting a message across«, as the Los Angeles Times put it – a talent she will be demonstrating on the day after the concert in the interactive lecture »Afrofuturism – Vision of the Future«.
