NDR Radiophilharmonie / Valeriy Sokolov / Stanislav Kochanovsky
Bartók: Violin Concerto, Two Pictures & Suite from »The Miraculous Mandarin« – Kosmos Bartók / Please note the change of programme
French colours meet East European dance rhythms
As part of the festival »Kosmos Bartók«, the NDR Radiophilharmonie performs orchestral works from three different phases of the composer’s career. On the rostrum: Russian conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky, who created quite a sensation in the international music world in the last few years, and »has gained a firm place among the leading conductors of our time« (Diapason Magazine). Kochanovsky has been working with the Ukrainian violinist Valeriy Sokolov for many years, and the two artists share an intense interest in Bartók’s music.
Please note: Béla Bartóks »Two Pictures« for orchestra, Sz 46 (Op.10), replaces his »Deux portraits«, Sz 37, in this concert.
