NDR Chamber Music Recital

»The horn is a noble and melancholy instrument. But the expression of its tone and its sonority are such that it can be used in any kind of piece,« wrote Hector Berlioz in his famous Treatise on Instrumentation. In this spirit, the horn section of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra will demonstrate in this Christmas chamber music concert that the repertoire of the golden instrument goes beyond woodland Romanticism, nature poetry, the blare of the hunt and choral tunes – although that alone already promises a deeply soothing swim in the ocean of sound.
