NDR Chamber Music Concert: Piano Trios
Tombelle / Fauré / Schumann
A chamber music concert with a true rarity: or have you heard of Fernand de La Tombelle? When it came to his compositions, La Tombelle, who in the course of his life had been an organist, composer, author, painter and photographer, followed the direction of his role model Gabriel Fauré. In the second half of the concert, a further jewel of the chamber music repertoire, Robert Schumann’s Piano Trio in D minor, can be heard. Robert Schumman presented the work to his wife Clara on her 28th birthday. NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra musicians Sono Tokuda, Valentin Priebus and pianist Olena Kushpler venture out to find the affinity of these three Parisian composers.
