NDR Chor / Sigvards Kļava

»I want to depict the soul of a bird – if indeed birds have a soul,« thus Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks. In »Botschaft der Meise« (The Tomtit’s Message) he sets out to find the divine principle in nature – and the freedom that the Soviet regime suppressed for many years. The NDR Chor under Latvian conductor Sigvards Kļava can be heard at the church of St. Nikolai in an all-Baltic programme in its third subscription concert.
