One day they might be performing the music of Duke Ellington, Carla Bley the next, and something completely different again after that. In their day-to-day work, the musicians of the NDR Bigband perform pieces by various composers and arrangers from the past and present of jazz. The »Selfies« series is a different kind of concert – evenings with an open outcome. Featuring only compositions and arrangements by band members, and personal favourites from the extensive band repertoire, this is a platform for the individual preferences and visions of the musicians – at times experimental, at times glamorous and groovy. A request concert where the musicians themselves get to do the requesting.
