Vladimir Spivakov is one of the most successful violinists of his generation. As a pupil of David Oistrakh, he belongs to the tradition of the great 20th century Russian violin virtuosi, and played with the top European and American orchestras before he decided to embark on a conducting career. In 1979 he founded the chamber orchestra Moscow Virtuosi, with which he is now making an extensive tour to mark the ensemble’s 40th anniversary.
