Canadian Marc-André Hamelin is one of the most interesting pianists of our time. Not only is he blessed with a genuine pianistic talent, he is also something of a »polymath« in all things piano. He also composes: his »12 Études in All Minor Keys« are – alongside those of György Ligeti and Kapustin – among the most original of our age.
