London Philharmonic Orchestra / Daniel Röhn
»The Golden Violin«
George Gershwin, Kurt Weill, Charlie Chaplin and Friedrich Hollaender are just a few of the brilliant figures of the 1920s whose timeless works – with their orchestral sounds – continue to inspire large audiences in concert halls and cinemas today. The 1920s was also the age of virtuosic greats such as Jascha Heifetz, who refined rare works with his art and the »golden sound« of his violin. Violinist Daniel Röhn now follows in his footsteps and brings the musical world of the Roaring Twenties back to life. Reading from texts by Djuna Barnes, Gertrude Stein, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Kurt Tucholsky, actor Martina Gedeck evokes the zeitgeist of the years between the two world wars.
