Very much in the style of Hamburg’s old opera house on Gänsemarkt (1678-1738), the audience at this concert enjoys a mixture of different works, cultures and musical eras. The heavily cut story of Dido, the unhappy Queen of Carthage, and Trojan prince Aeneas is told by three great artists: Roman poet Virgil, London composer Purcell and his Hamburg opposite number Christoph Graupner. The stage set for the operatic action that is projected behind the orchestra is the product of a cooperation between Hamburg and Osnabrück school students, working together with the well-known Bremen collective URBANSCREEN.

If you bought your tickets in the Elbphilharmonie’s online shop, you will be refunded the purchase price via the payment method used for the original booking – you don’t need to do anything. You’ll find further details on refunds on the following page: Information on refunds for tickets to cancelled events
