In 2018 soprano Asmik Grigorian became a world star overnight when she made all of Salzburg hold its breath as Richard Strauss’s Salome. The Lithuanian singer has since been counted among the top stars of the opera stage, and with good reason. The critics have been falling over themselves with praise: »No-one sings so beautifully and touchingly,« as Die Zeit puts it.
