L’Arpeggiata / Christina Pluhar
»Via Crucis« / Easter at the Elbphilharmonie
Easter a little different
»Buoyant, funny, convincing, melodious, brilliant.« Christina Pluhar generates excitement wherever she performs. However, the Austrian musician’s journey as a classical musician, and to early music in particular, was not clearly mapped out from the start. Pluhar initially studied the concert guitar but was then gripped by a passion for works from the Baroque period and earlier. She learned to play the lute and the Baroque harp, and in 2000 she formed the Baroque ensemble LʼArpeggiata, with which she has since gained world fame. With cleverly conceived and passionately performed projects, she regularly throws new light on what are regarded as very familiar works. From Baroque and jazz to a new interpretation of the Orpheus myth with Sicilian and South American folk music – when it comes to Pluhar and LʼArpeggiata, you can be sure you’ll hear something extraordinary.
