Lambchop and its mastermind Kurt Wagner are a true phenomenon. As different as they may be, all their albums are the subject of regular acclaim from critics and music lovers alike. One constant in their music is the calm, deep and smoky voice of Kurt Wagner, which gives the band its relaxed sound. At the age of nearly 57, the musician from Nashville has completely reinvented himself and his musical vehicle by the name of Lambchop.
For his new album »FLOTUS« (release date: 6 November 2016), he went into the studio with two objectives: firstly, to record an album dedicated to his wife Mary, and secondly, to record an album largely featuring his own voice as the main instrument. To this end, he sampled, reprocessed and distorted his voice, creating beats from it, and using processors, filters and sequencers. Then his fellow band members joined him to make their own contribution. The result is a daring and innovative Lambchop album that still sounds like Lambchop.
