Krystian Zimerman / Piano Recital
Hamburg International Music Festival
A rare grand master
Krystian Zimerman gives no more than 50 recitals a year – the Polish pianist is known for his uncompromising approach to his art. Now his fans have a rare opportunity to hear him live in concert. Almost exactly four years after his acclaimed Elbphilharmonie debut, he returns to Hamburg with fascinating works by his countryman Karol Szymanowski, to whom he dedicated his latest album: a composer who is himself rarely heard in concert. Fortunately, Zimerman is a keen advocate of this Late Romantic composer and of his colourful, forward-looking music. BR Klassik commented: »A totally important project for this fantastic pianist«.
