Jonathan Powell / Piano Recital
»Die Belle Époque in Russland: Das Silberne Zeitalter«
The British pianist Jonathan Powell has an impressively broad repertoire that ranges from Viennese classicism to contemporary music. He is particularly fond of neglected works from the early twentieth century, especially those by Russian composers. In parallel with Russian literary history, this incredibly fruitful period could well be described as the »Silver Age« of Russian music. Powell now comes to Hamburg with a programme that serves up world-famous as well as almost forgotten Russian composers of that age.
