Jerusalem in my Heart / Lucrecia Dalt
Lux aeterna
»Jerusalem in my Heart« stands for a unique live happening – literally, as none of their shows resemble one another. The only regularity is the chant of Lebanese singer Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, who initiated the project in 2005. His warm prayer-like song merges with spherical trance electronics, resulting in experimental Arabian music, hypnotic and deeply moving. In exciting contrast to this: the »surreal attempts at condensing the world« (Spex) of Columbian-born Berlin resident Lucrecia Dalt. While getting inspired by external impulses like sounds and movies, she reduces these impressions to a minimum in her music. She skillfully defamiliarizes and interweaves her selected material and forms extraordinary sound constructions using acoustic as well as electronic instruments. This yielded a prompt success: Meanwhile Dalt was signed by the label of techno wunderkind Nicolas Jaar, who already filled the Laeiszhalle with his somber electro sound at the Hamburg International Music Festival.
