Jan Lisiecki / Piano Recital
Préludes – Works by Frédéric Chopin, Sergey Rachmaninov, Johann Sebastian Bach, among others
Small but exquisite
Charming mood piece, velvety nocturne, experimental sketch: a musical prelude can take many different forms. The Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki sets out to explore all its different facets this season. The star with the pleasant manner has been known to Hamburg music lovers since his residency last season: he has been enchanting audiences for some years with his clever interpretations and his literally dizzying virtuosity.
Discount for all under 30: Exclusively for this concert, anyone under 30 can book the REDticket. This means that even the best available seats only cost € 12. Proof of age must be shown when attending the concert, otherwise the difference to the original price will have to be paid.
With a well-balanced programme of music from Bach to Rachmaninov, Lisiecki invites the audience to join him on a journey to the world of the piano prelude. And the focus is on a composer who not only perfected the art of the highly concentrated musical miniature, but whom Lisiecki is especially fond of: Frédéric Chopin, whose 24 Prelude, Op. 28, are among the pinnacles of the genre.
