Hamburg Symphonies
Symphoniker Hamburg / Chamber Music Concert
In its second chamber concert of the season, the Symphoniker Hamburg pay tribute to one of the city’s most distinguished sons: Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. He wrote his Hamburg symphonies as director of music in the city, a post that required him to compose works for some 200 performances a year. Concertmaster Adrian Iliescu plays Mozart’s Violin Concerto in D Major, much loved for its musical variety, and the evening is brought to a witty end with a Slavic touch by Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings in E Major.
