Hamburg Celebrates! 100 Years of Waldorf Education
Ceremony / Hamburg’s 12 Waldorf Schools
Hamburg celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the first Waldorf school. What began as an educational offering for the children of workers at a cigarette factory in Stuttgart now connects people around the world: in more than 1,100 Waldorf schools and 2,000 kindergartens in over 80 countries, the focus is on the holistic development of children and teenagers. Waldorf schools are an important part of educational diversity in Hamburg too. There are 12 Waldorf schools in the city, and the 4,000 children, their teachers and parents are actively engaged in school and society life.
