Father John Misty

Josh Tillman, better known as Father John Misty, performs his only headline show of 2019 in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall. The musical range of the American musician and former Fleet Foxes drummer spans from jazz and electronica to mariachi and performances with orchestra – as in Hamburg, where he is supported by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt. Tillman’s songs exude great musicality. As a drummer he developed a knack for timing, as a guitarist a flair for harmonies and as an arranger a feel for the big sound – and his broad melodic arches envelop the explosive content of the songs with delicate beauty.
