When Die Strottern are joined on stage by the Ensemble Mikado, you are taken on a journey through Europe and through the centuries at the same time. That is because here, the sounds of one John Dowland meet merry singing, London fog meets the blood-red autumn of the Donaustadt, and two Wienerlied aficionados meet the renowned Renaissance ensemble of the Elbphilharmonie’s current Artist in Residence Eva Reiter.
The »Ganz Wien« festival brings the Wienerlied (Viennese song) in all its forms to the stages of the Elbphilharmonie. A line-up of the contemporary scene’s most exciting artists exudes original Viennese flair and demonstrates the musical treasures the Austrian capital has to offer.
