Darkness & Light / Orgel und Video - ein Rezital
Lux aeterna
Space, music and imagery melt into one unique experience when Belgian organ virtuoso Bernard Foccroulle teams up with Australian video artist Lynette Wallworth. Their programme has the title »Darkness and Light« and spans a musical arc from Dietrich Buxtehude and his pupil Johann Sebastian Bach to composers of the 20th and 21st century who were inspired by them. Among them is Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina whose works are strongly shaped by religion. Darkness and light are not just themes in the music, however, they are also the basis for Wallworth‘s vast video projections. They balance images of nature with the contrasting sacred organ music.
