Daniil Trifonov
Piano Recital
With his expressive playing and amazing technique, which is an expression of self-assuredness but never becomes an end in itself, the exceptional Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov has quickly earned himself a place at the table of contemporary piano greats. At his piano recital in Hamburg, one of the piano greats of the past represents the focal point: Frédéric Chopin features with compositions such as the famous Sonata Op. 35 and is indirectly present as a source of ideas in the variation cycles by the two pianist-composers Federico Mompou and Sergei Rachmaninov.
