The TV channel ProSieben recently described him as a »thoroughbred musician«: Damon Albarn is not only the front man of the rock band »Blur« and the musical mastermind behind the virtual band »Gorillaz«, he is also incredibly successful as a solo musician. In the Elbphilharmonie, the British artist now presents his latest project »The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows«, one of his most personal works to date – inspired by journeys to Iceland. Albarn has been a frequent visitor to the captivating island nation for three decades and has in that time found musical inspiration in its nature and spectacular landscapes.
