»I see a great similarity between the infinitely large and the infinitely small in everything,« says Yann Tiersen. The way the French composer and multi-instrumentalist tackles micro and macro has always been reflected in his music. Infectious minimalism on the piano, as in his 2016 work »Eusa«, rubs shoulders with the intensity of an entire band – for example, in »Skyline« (2011) and »Infinity« (2014). Since the outset of his career in the early 1990s, Yann Tiersen has been well-known, particularly in his native France, for his diversity and his unconventional compositions. Then in the early 2000s, his film scores for »Amélie« and »Goodbye, Lenin!« made him known internationally.
