It’s a fair bet that no one has combined Hanseatic reserve with 60s Detroit soul as coolly as Milo Milone and her band Rhonda do. When Jan Fabricius starts to groove on the bass, Offer Stock makes the Hammond organ sing and Ben Schadow’s guitar twangs like in the old days, you feel transported back to the heyday of American soul. With a good dose of punk attitude in their songs, the quintet gives regular reminders of its Hanseatic roots and pulls off the classic Hamburg balancing act of fitting in perfectly both in a low dive and in a glamorous setting. And even if singer Milo Milone has since relocated to Los Angeles, where she is close to musical influences like Diana Ross and Sam Cooke, Rhonda remains unequivocally »Made in Hamburg«.

Please note: This event replaces the cancelled concert from 26 November 2019. Tickets purchased for the postponed concert are valid for this event.

The pop metropolis of Hamburg can look back at a proud tradition. The »Made in Hamburg« series prefers to look to the future and invites some of the scene’s most exciting representatives to the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall.
