Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, concerts in the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle cannot go ahead as originally planned. This event has had to be cancelled. Instead, to open the 2020/21 concert season, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra under chief conductor Alan Gilbert will be performing all of Johannes Brahms’ symphonies in 7 concerts, juxtaposed in each case with a Prokofiev violin concerto.
