In its chamber concerts, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra can draw on considerable resources, also performing works that otherwise rarely find their way to the concert hall. The fourth programme of the chamber concert series features rarities for five wind instruments and piano, among them sextets by composers like Leo Smit and Ludwig Thuille, as well as the piece »L’heure du berger« by Jean Françaix, which he wrote in honour of a Paris restaurant: each of the three movements describes a scene from the restaurant. Bon appétit!
