Anyone who has ever had the chance to be involved will never want to give it up – the experience of singing together in such an exceptional hall as the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall. In 2019, more than 1,000 amateurs sang with the NDR Chor in a stunning concert. In 2020, one of the greatest oratorios of all time is on the programme: Joseph Haydn’s »Creation«. In May 1791, Haydn witnessed a grand celebration of Handel’s music in Westminster Abbey in London, and he marvelled at the enormous popularity of English oratorios. That was probably the inspiration for him to create something comparable in German and in the spirit of the Enlightenment.
