CANCELLED: Khatia Buniatishvili
As a result of the new Germany-wide coronavirus restrictions that have been issued, all concerts in the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle have been cancelled until 20 December 2020. This event has had to be cancelled. You’ll find further details on refunds on the following page: Information on refunds for tickets to cancelled events
Born in Batumi, Georgia, in 1987, Khatia Buniatishvili set her mind on success at an early age – and then went to work to achieve that dream. She has since earned a reputation as something of a maverick who is very free in her use of the musical source. The result may sound unusual to a well-trained ear, but everyone can feel that it’s full of passion and emotion.
Khatia Buniatishvili’s programmes are always selected to open up a multi-facetted world of emotion. Liszt follows Bach, Prokofiev follows Chopin, with a measure of Brahms in-between. Buniatishvili easily covers this stylistic breadth in one concert while always taking the audience by the hand and infecting them with her enthusiasm.
